STORK’S Bakery takes home three awards for the second year in a row: Best Coffee Shop, Best Dessert and Best Barista
Stork’s Bakery claims the top prize for Best Dessert for the sixth year in a row! Whether it’s a full cake, a slice, a piece of pastry, or just a giant cookie, you won’t be disappointed. Add this to the fact that the selection is mind-boggling; a dozen different pies, cakes like Mom used to make, as well as those reminiscent of a French patisserie, cheesecakes, cupcakes, bread puddings and tea breads.
Their individual-sized tarts are especially popular. Check out the Fresh Fruit Tarts, the award-winning Lemon White Chocolate Mousse Tarts, and their recently introduced Red Velvet Oreo Cheesecake Tart.
You can go into a diabetic coma just reading the menu! And each item tastes as good as it looks. With so many goodies to choose from, it’s no surprise that Stork’s continues to win.
“The team at Stork’s is honored to have been nominated and selected, and we are very appreciative of our wonderful, supportive customers,” said Pasquale Rizzo, Catering Manager.
Stork’s also takes Best Coffee Shop. “Whether it’s cold-pressed juice shots, energy drinks, the mushroom-infused coffee drink, Chagaccino (yes, that’s mushroom!), CBD iced lattes, or adding coffee iced cubes to your favorite drink, our owner, Peter Dekaj, tries to stay on the cutting edge of the latest consumer trends,” Pasquale added.
Stork’s has been a staple in the community since opening in 1997. Like most businesses though, they faced challenges this year due to shutdowns and restrictions. But unlike some places, they were able to remain open, which allowed them to keep all of their staff employed.
“Stork’s, in collaboration with several loyal, generous customers, was privileged to provide and deliver meals to numerous front-line workers at various hospital facilities, as well as a local fire station,” Pasquale said. “The staff at Stork’s is truly thankful for our loyal patrons, who have supported the restaurant throughout the years, but particularly during this very difficult year.”
Long time employee Daniel G. won for Best Barista.
Help Support Daniel, Stork’s Best Barista!
As mentioned, Daniel was voted “Best Barista” for the 2nd year in a row in the South Florida Gay News competition. Unfortunately, Daniel became ill in mid-October and was diagnosed with Lymphoma (Lymphatic Cancer). He has been out of work since then, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. He not only has lost wages over the past two months, but has a long road to recovery before him. Our hope is to raise funds to help replace his lost wages and contribute toward his daily living expenses.
